Seit seinem Drehbuch-Studium an der ifs internationale filmschule köln arbeitet Dominik Hochwald als Autor und Dramaturg für Film, Serie, Games und Kinderbücher. Zu seinen Auftraggebern zählen Pantaleon Films und der Coppenrath Verlag. Für den Europa-Park entwickelt er Storywelten.
In Writers’ Rooms arbeitet Dominik an Film- und Serien-Formaten, bisher u.a. für Rat Pack, Warner Bros., Sony und eitelsonnenschein. Er ist Autor der ZDF-Serie „HUSK“, die 2026 ausgestrahlt wird und des Film-Game-Hybrids „Human Within“, das 2025 auf der Meta Quest erschien. Zudem schrieb er das Drehbuch für die 2026 erscheinende Folge „Blutige Bescherung“ der ZDF-Reihe „Friesland“.
Die Bücher seiner Bilderbuchreihe „Dinosaurier in Omas Garten“ verkauften sich bis 2025 über 270.000 Mal. Der erste Band ist mit über 100.000 verkauften Exemplaren ein Bestseller. „Dinosaurier feiern Weihnachten“ stieg im November 2025 auf Platz 9 der deutschen Bilderbuchbestsellerliste ein. Seit Januar 2026 wird mit „Dino Mates“ die Serienadaption der Reihe auf KiKA ausgestrahlt. Regelmäßig veranstaltet er interaktive Lesungen.
Dominik ist auch als Autor für Games tätig und entwickelte u.a. Konzept und Story für „Ferocious“, das 2025 von tinyBuild veröffentlicht wurde.
Als Dramaturgischer Berater wirkt er an Film-, Serien- und Romanentwicklungen mit und berät Firmen bei Marken- und IP-Entwicklungen. Er war u.a. Script Consultant der ZDF-Serie „Club der Dinosaurier“ und des Kinderbuchs „Rulantica“. Zudem hält er Seminare zu den Themen „Basics of Storytelling“, „Storywelten“ und „Pixar’s Storytelling“.

In writers‘ rooms, he works on film and serial formats, having collaborated with companies like Rat Pack, Warner Bros., Sony and eitelsonnenschein, among others. By 2025, his children’s book series „Dinosaurier in Omas Garten“ („Dinosaurs in Grandma’s Garden“) sold over 270,000 copies. The first book became a bestseller with sales exceeding 100,000. “Dinosaurier feiern Weihnachten“ debuted at No. 9 on Germany’s picture-book bestseller list in November 2025. Since January 2026, the series adaptation Dino Mates has been broadcast on KiKA. He regularly holds interactive readings.
Dominik works as a game writer, creating concepts and stories for games like „Ferocious“ that was published by tinyBuild in December 2025.
As a consultant, he contributes to the development of films, series and novels, and advises companies on brand and IP development.
